The Disability Employment Advisers will try to place in regular jobs those adults able to cope with 'open' employment. An adviser can arrange for employment assessments to be carried out to determine at what level the person could work. A range of provisions are available to support people back into work.
Your Adviser can put you in touch with Access to Work Advisers who can advise you on adaptations to workplaces and special equipment to help you continue in the workplace. They can also help prepare you for re-entering employment, for example CV writing, interview skills and confidence building. They provide contacts for a wide range of services including Workchoice for disabled people. There are no fees for this service.
Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
