Mary Ward Centre

The Mary Ward Centre is an adult college in Bloomsbury offering part-time day, evening and weekend lifelong learning courses for adults in a wide variety of subjects. Known as the Friendly Place to Learn, we provide a supportive environment for all adults wishing to study, either on an accredited course or for work or the joy of learning.

Courses are in the following general areas

  • Languages
  • English (ESOL and Literacy)
  • Community Interpreting and Translation
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Teacher Training
  • Health
  • Writing and Publishing
  • Music (learning music, singing and orchestra)
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Computing
  • Digital Media and Business
  • Management and Marketing

There is also a programme for older learners, which includes computing, health and fitness and singing.

Concessionary fees are available for people on benefits. A Bursary Fund can help other students in need. Most courses have direct enrolment. Some courses require tutor assessment in advance. Please see propectus and website for details. 

Advice sessions (drop in) for ESOL and Literacy classes are Tuesdays 3pm - 5pm and Wednesdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm.
