Street League

Street League is a charity which runs free weekly football training sessions across London for anyone over 16 who is unemployed or not in education or training. The football training sessions take place throughout the week in the afternoons all over London.

Street League coaches teach football and life skills.

Once a month they have competitive match days where all the teams they train across London compete against each other in a five a side league. Match days are part of a six-month season and seasons end with a Cup Competition.

Players are rewarded for regular attendance by gaining attendance credits which can be swapped for kit (boots, tracksuits, shin-pads, t-shirts etc).

They run international tours, 11 a side rep sides and one off events.

They have an education and training programme called The Street League Academy. Among the things on offer are

  • Route planning
  • The Community Sports Leaders Award
  • Referee’s courses
  • An Open College Network Accreditation in Job Search skills
  • Volunteering Opportunities
  • Workshops on CV writing
